The 4 Estates Forum met with Riverside in February 2026 to get an update on the regeneration plans for the area. Riverside confirmed that they still intend to restart conversations with residents about the future of the Samuda Estate, but no date has yet been set. An internal Riverside panel will decide when any consultation begins again.
Riverside stressed that even if a regeneration project were to go ahead, nothing would happen quickly. It would take several years of planning before any building work could start. Of course there is a further caveat as no one knows what impact the current situation in the middle east will have on inflation, interest rates and supplies.
This means there would be plenty of time for discussion, planning, and resident involvement before any changes are made.
If the internal panel gives the green light to restart consultation, that would be just the first step. Riverside made it clear that early conversations would explore a range of options — and would not automatically mean demolition or a new‑build scheme.
Before any regeneration could move forward, Riverside would need to complete:
In short, residents will have multiple opportunities to be involved, share their views, and vote before any decisions are made about the future of the estate.
